With September approaching, it’s nearly time for the next batch of free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Microsoft today announced the four titles that will be available across Xbox One and Xbox 360 through Games With Gold, and there are some quality ones in there.
September starts off with Forza Motorsport 5: Game of the Year Edition, an Xbox One launch game, being free for Gold members. The timing is perhaps a bit odd, with Forza Motorsport 7 launching in early October, but this may be meant as a teaser for that game. The Game of the Year Edition comes with a Top Gear DLC car pack that introduces another 10 vehicles to the game.

The Xbox 360 console may have ceased production back in 2016, however millions of gamers still own one and millions more are able to experience its comprehensive games library through the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility program. Microsoft has announced server maintenance for April 27th, of which anyone planning to use their Xbox 360 or a backwards compatible game should take note:On Thursday, April 27 between 8:00AM UTC and 10:00AM UTC (4:00AM ET and 6:00AM ET), we will be performing scheduled maintenance that will affect Xbox 360 titles and services.

For a long time, digital videogame purchases lacked one of the basic expectations of physical copies: the ability to get a refund if you change your mind about a purchase.
Thankfully, that’s slowly changing. First Valve began offering full refunds through its PC game storefront Steam, and Microsoft has followed suit by announcing refunds for digital copies of Xbox One and Windows 10 games and apps purchased through the Microsoft Store.
